For a long time, maritime cybersecurity was not a priority.

That changed when IACS UR E26 (the ship as a whole) and E27 (onboard systems and equipment) became mandatory for newbuild vessels contracted on or after July 1, 2024. Cyber resilience is no longer a recommendation. It is now a minimum requirement for classification.

The challenge is that this cannot be solved with conventional IT security. Shore-side IT puts confidentiality first, while shipboard OT puts availability first. Standard security tools cannot simply be transplanted into an environment with opposite priorities, and a certification process at the point of delivery is not enough to meet the regulation.

Above all, no single player can solve this alone. Ship owners, shipyards, system integrators, equipment makers, classification societies, and naval builders each face the same regulation from a different position, and their roles need to be aligned.

That is why we created this forum. Centered on the two forces of regulation and AI, the entire maritime cybersecurity value chain comes to one table.
